As a Member of Congress, one of my most important responsibilities is to help my constituents interact with the many agencies and offices of the federal government.  Constituents most commonly approach my staff for casework when they do not receive a timely response from a federal agency, when they wish to appeal a decision, or if they have lost important documents. November 2009: Replacement of Military Medals and Distinctions for Master Sgt Francisco Santos

Master Sgt Francisco Santos contacted our office last month for help in obtaining a replacement set of military awards and decorations that he had previously lost.  We office worked with Mr. Santos and the National Personnel Records Center in St. Louis to figure out the confusion and cut through the red tape and last week the medals arrived.  Our office presented the medals to Mr. Santos at his home in Orlando with his wife, Carmen, and children on hand for the event.
